Had Skull Fractured

John Discher of Meehan was brot (brought) to this city on Sunday evening in a badly battered up condition, having been kicked by a broncho (bronco) at Rudolph. His skull was fractured and his left eye so badly injured that it was necessary to remove the ball.

Discher was at Rudolph buying horses when the accident occurred, and was brought to this city by Dr. Jackson, and after Dr. Waters had fixed him up he was taken to Riverview hospital, where he has been getting along all right.

Obituary

John Disher

John Disher, 508 Sixth avenue, died at 4 o'clock this morning at St. Michael's hospital.

Mr. Disher, who was 72, had been in ill health since the first of the year and entered the hospital three and one-half weeks ago.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Bronislawa's Catholic church at Plover, and burial will follow in the parish cemetery, Friends may call at the Dzikoski funeral home after 6 p.m. Saturday.

Mr. Disher was born in the town of Stockton on June 24, 1883, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Disher. He attended parochial school at Fancher and was married Jan. 15, 1907, to Mathilda Skrzypkowski.

The couple settled in Fancher, moved to Wisconsin Rapids for a short time and then farmed in the town of Grant for 28 years. From there they moved to Plover where Mr. Disher was employed by the Green Bay & Western railroad for a year and half.

They lived in Stevens Point for the last nine years.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Harry, Wisconsin Rapids, and Leonard, Brillion; two daughters, Sister M. Gemma, Chicago, and Mrs. Ed. Winkler, Milwaukee; six grandchildren; a brother Jacob, Stevens Point, and two sisters, Mrs. John Singer, Plover, and Clementine Zblewski, 121 Portage street.

Preceding him in death were three sons, a daughter, two sisters and three brothers.

A general rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Sunday. The Rosary society of St. Bronislawa's church, of which Mrs. Disher is a member, will say the rosary Saturday night at 8.

Mr. Disher's Funeral

Rev. Francis Przybylski officiated Monday morning at St. Bronislawa's Catholic church, Plover, at funeral services for John Disher, 508 Sixth avenue, who died Friday.

Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were Alois Disher, Edwin Milanowski, Stanley Skrzypkowski, Edward Ksionsk, Joseph Worzella and John Singer.

Attending from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Disher, Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Disher and Leo Singer, Brillion; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Winkler, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Disher, Jack Disher, Mr. and Mrs. Alois Disher, Adam Skrzypkowski, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Nagy and Louis Singer, Milwaukee; Sister M. Gemma, Mrs. Anna Fleming and Mrs. Anthony Dombrowski, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Firkus, Galloway; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Fisher, Racine, and others from this area.

Obituary

Mrs. Mathilda Sondelski

Mrs. Mathilda Sondelski, 97 died this morning at Portage County Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Bronislava's Catholic Church. The Rev. Charles Hiebl will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at Shuda Funeral Chapel. A bible vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Sondelski was born Dec. 25, 1886, in Poland, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Skrzypkowski. She came to the United States at age three, and the family settled in the Plover area.

She was married to John Disher in Plover. The couple farmed in the town of Grant and the Plover area until moving to Stevens Point in the mid 1940s. Mr. Disher died in 1956.

She married George Sondelski in 1960, and the couple settled in Mosinee. She has been a resident of Portage County Home since April 1962.

 Survivors include her husband, Wausau; two daughters, Sister Evelyn Disher, 1300 Maria Drive, and Mrs. Edwin (Bridget) Winkler, Milwaukee; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

 Three sons, one brother and two sisters preceded her in death.
