Amherst Junction Boy's Arm Broken In Fall From Tree

Donald Wiater, age seven, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wiater of Amherst Junction, suffered a broken left arm when he fell out of a tree at the graded school playground about 4:30 o'clock Monday afternoon. He was brought to St. Michael's hospital here last night and the broken bones were set in place today.

Obituary

Donald Wiater

Donald Wiater, 49, Wisconsin Rapids, died Thursday at 1:15 p.m. at Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids. He had been ill for the past year.

He was the son of Katherine Wiater.

Funeral services will be held at the Higgins Funeral Home at Wisconsin Rapids at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, with Rev. Paul Bierlein officiating. Burial will be made in Des Pines Cemetery here.

Friends may call at the Higgins Funeral Home after 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Mr. Wiater was born at Amherst Junction on Nov. 29, 1927, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wiater. He was graduated from Amherst High School in 1945 and attended University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point prior to enlisting in the Army on Jan. 3, 1946. He served in the South Pacific and was discharged on July 29, 1947.

Mr. Wiater married Betty Koshak at Fitfield on June 2, 1951, and they lived in Wisconsin Rapids, where he was a building contractor. The couple was divorced.

Mr. Wiater is survived by two sons, Scott, Wisconsin Rapids, and Bruce, at home; his mother, in Stevens Point, and five sisters, Mrs. Jeanette Thompson, Amherst, Mrs. Florence Mansavage, Mrs. Mary Ann Marten, Shawano, Mrs. Margaret Koller, Whiting and Mrs. Jo Ann Hall, Green Bay.

He was preceded in death by his father.
