Notes for SISTER ( NUN ) SISTER EVELYN (GEMMA) DISHER: Sister Evelyn (Gemma) Disher April 30, 2007 Sister Evelyn (Gemma) Disher, 91, a sister of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis for 74 years, died Sunday, April 29, 2007, at St. Joseph Congregational Home. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, at the convent chapel. Burial will follow in the convent cemetery. Visitation will be at the convent from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, until the time of the funeral. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Evelyn Disher was born Nov. 7, 1915, in Wisconsin Rapids to the late John and Mathilda (Skrzypkowski) Disher. She was received into the novitiate of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis on Aug. 7, 1933, and made her final vows Aug. 9, 1938. Sister Disher was a teacher and principal for 43 years in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, and served in other ministries for 25 years. Since 2004, she resided at St. Joseph Congregational Home. Survivors include nieces and nephews.
