Obituary

Bridget L. Winkler

Bridget L. (Disher) Winkler, 85 passed away Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Joanie's Residential Facility in Montello. She was born in Portage. Beloved wife of the late Edwin; mother of Conrad (Nancy) Winkler of Montello; grandmother of Ronald Winkler, Tammy Winkler amd Renee Winkler (Jeff Neuenschawander); sister of sister Evelyn disher of Stevens Point; and sister-in-law of Henry (Emily) Winkler of Stevens Point and Frank (the late Leona)Winkler of Milwaukee. Further survived by nieces nephews, other relatives and friends. Retiree of Briggs & Stratton.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3100 W. Parnell Ave., Milwaukee, for a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 a.m.

Entombment will be ar St. Adalbert Cemetery.

Bridget L. (Disher) Winkler

Bridget L. (Disher) Winkler, 85, sister of a Stevens Point woman, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Joanie's Residential Facility in Montello.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Milwaukee. Entombment will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery in Milwaukee.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the John J. Walloch Funeral Home in Milwaukee.

Mrs. Winkler was born May 16, 1919, in Portage, a daughter of the late John and Mathilda (Skrzypkowski) Disher.

She was married to Edwin Winkler. He preceded her in death.

She retired from Briggs & Stratton.

Survivors include one son, Conrad (Nancy) Winkler, Montello; one sister, Sister Evelyn Disher, Stevens Point; three grandchildren; and two brothers in law, Henry (Emily) Winkler, Stevens Point, and Frank Winkler, Milwaukee.

Edwin Winkler

Edwin Winkler, 70, 5375 S. 24th St., Milwaukee, formerly of Stevens Point, died Tuesday at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Borrowmeo Church, Milwaukee. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the John J. Walloch Funeral Home, Milwaukee.

 Mr. Winkler was born July 9, 1918, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Stanley and Sally Winkler. He was employed for 38 years at Maynard's Electric Steel Co., retiring in 1980.

Survivors include his wife, Bridget; a son, Conrad (Nancy), Milwaukee; two grandchildren; a sister, Celia (Edward) King, Milwaukee; and two brothers, Frank (Leona) Winkler, Milwaukee, and Henry Winkler, Stevens Point.

Roses decorated the altars of St. Bronislawa's church at Plover Saturday morning, September 30, for the wedding of Miss Bridget Leona Disher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Disher of Wisconsin Rapids, and Edwin Alois Winkler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Winkler of Stevens Point. Rev. W. B. Polaczark read the service at 8:30 o'clock.

The bride was attired in a satin gown with flowers of pearl beads around the neck, and a skirt ending in a long train. Her long veil was edged with lace, and she carried pale yellow roses tied with a white bow.

Miss Jean Ksionsk, the maid of honor, wore a pink satin dress with puffed sleeves. The bridesmaids were Misses Patricia Healy and Irene Milanowski of Chicago, Bernice Skrzypkowski and Emily Kurzynski. Two were in blue taffeta and two in pink taffeta. They all carried carnations. Chardella Worzella, the flower girl, wore a pink dress trimmed with blue and carried carnations. The groom's attendants were Leonard Disher as best man, and Harry Yacht, Henry Winkler and Ben Zale ski as groomsmen.

Breakfast, luncheon and dinner were served at the bride's home to 180 families, and dancing was enjoyed.

The bride and groom will make their home in Stevens Point. Both are employed here in a furniture factory.
