Obituary

Mrs. Agnes S. Jerzak

Mrs. Agnes S. Jerzak, 81, 100 Forest St. N., died this morning at home. She had been ill for about a year.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church. The Rev. Chester Osowski will officiate, and burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m.  Thursday at Dzikoski Funeral Home. A general rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

She was born Jan.14, 1903 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Okoniewski. She moved with her family to Stevens Point as a child and attended St. Peter's and Grant Schools. She lived with her grandparents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Disher Sr., for a time and attended schools in Fancher. She later moved with her grandparents to Plover.

She was married to Florian H. Jerzak on Aug. 9, 1920, at St. Bronislava's Catholic Church, Plover. They settled in Plover and moved to Stevens Point area in 1932. Mr. Jerzak died March 8, 1981. She was a auxiliary member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans, Post 181, Du Bay. Her son is a member of the veterans organization.

Survivors include two sons, Savery, Newport News, Va.,and Thaddeus, 100 Forest St., N.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Eckman, 625 Portage St. A son, a sister and three brothers preceded her in death.

Obituary

Florian H. Jerzak

Florian H. Jerzak, 81, 100 Forest St. N., died Sunday morning at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Madison. He had been a patient there for two days.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church. The Rev. Chester Moczarny will officiate. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Friends may call now at the Dzikoski Funeral Home. The Polish Legion of American Veterans, Dubay Post No. 181, the Disabled American Veterans and World War I Barracks will combine for a ritual at 7 p.m., followed by the general rosary at 7:30 p.m.

Mr Jerzak was born April 18, 1899, in the town of Hull, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Jerzak. He attended St. Casimir's Grade School in Hull.

He was inducted into the U. S. Army April 16, 1917, and served as a private in France. He received the Silver Star with three oak clusters and the Purple Heart after being wounded in action. After his discharge Sept. 26, 1919, he returned to Stevens Point.

He married Agnes Okonieski on Aug. 9, 1920, at St. Bronislava's Catholic Church, Plover. The couple lived in Plover until moving to Stevens Point in 1935. His last employment was with Lullabye Co., after which he retired in 1956 due to ill health.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Savery, Newport News, Va., and Thaddeus, at home; four brothers, Edward and Victor of New Port Richey, Fla., Ben, 1232 Whitney St. and Walter, Plover; one sister Mrs. Betty Lewis, Plover; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

One son, one sister and four brothers preceded him in death.

Obituary

Thaddeus S. Jerzak

Thaddeus S. Jerzak, 77, Stevens Point, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, at the Stevens Point Care Center in Whiting.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin C. Louis officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Visitation will be in the St. Faustina Room of the church from 11:30 a.m. Friday until the services.

Memorials in his name will be established at a later date.

Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Jerzak was born Jan. 24, 1928, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Florian and Agnes (Okoniewski) Jerzak. He attended local schools.

He was never married.

He worked for St. Michael's Hospital as a custodian for a number of years.

Survivors include one sister-in-law, Emily Jerzak, Stevens Point; and nieces and nephews, including Ton Jerzak, Dan Jerzak, Sandy Bonfigt and Sue Schwab.
