Notes for FRANCES SINGER: Stevens Point Journal Wednesday, May 4, 1983 Obituary Francis Shopinski Francis Shopinski, 83, 121 Elm St., Whiting, died Tuesday night at St. Michael's Hospital. She had been a patient there for six weeks. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Bronislava's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Charles Hiebl officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday at Dzikoski Funeral Home. A general rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Mrs. Shopinski was born March 28, 1900 in Wood County, daughter of the late John and Barbara Singer. She attended Wood County schools and was married to Frank Shopinski Nov. 10, 1919, at St. Bronislava's Church, Plover. He died Aug. 21, 1975. The couple farmed in the town of Plover. Mrs. Shopinski has lived at the present address since January. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Fabisiak, Waukesha, Mrs. George (Delores) Matke, 1616 Riverview Ave., Mrs. Eugene (Jeanne) Smrz, 506 Court St., and Mrs. Ernest (Betty) Schepps, 3023 Post Road; three sons, George, 2106 Gilman Drive, Plover, Leo, 120 Elm St., Whiting, and David, Kansas City, Mo; 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Martha Ryan, Minneapolis, Mrs. Margaret Sieczka, Mrs. Belvine Worzella, and Mrs. Kay Franks Jr., all of Milwaukee, Mrs. Johanna Kedrowski, Wisconsin Rapids, and Mrs. Frank (Bernice) Raschka Sr., 2825 Minnesota Ave. She was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter.

Notes for FRANK T. SHOPINSKI: Stevens Point Daily Journal Friday, August 22, 1975 Obituary Frank T. Shopinski Frank T. Shopinski, 82, Wisconsin Street, Plover, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at River Pines Community Health Center, where he had been a patient for about 10 days. Previously, he had been at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Madison, and had been ill for about one year. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Bronislava's Catholic Church, Plover. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 6 o'clock tonight at the Dzikoski Funeral Home. Portage County Barracks 1782, Veterans of World War I, of which he was a member will hold a ritual at 7:30 p.m. A general rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Mr. Shopinski was born Nov. 22, 1892, in Milwaukee, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Shopinski. He farmed with his family in the Town of Plover before enlisting in the United States Army on July 19, 1918, at Wisconsin Rapids. He served as a private with the 12th Company, 161st Depot Brigade. He was discharged Jan. 17, 1919, at Camp Grant, Ill. His marriage was to Frances Singer on Nov. 10, 1919, at St. Bronislava's Church. Mr. Shopinski and his wife farmed in the Town of Plover and then moved to Stevens Point. They moved to the present home address about six years ago. He had been employed at the Whiting-Plover Paper Mill and at Joern's Furniture Co. Survivors include his wife; three sons, George, 2108 Gilman Dr. Plover, Leo, 120 Elm St. Whiting, and David, Kansas City, Mo.; four daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Fabisiak, Waukesha, Mrs. George (Delores) Matke, 1616 Riverview Ave., Mrs. Eugene (Jeanette) Smrz, 1940 Prairie St., and Mrs. Betty Saari, 3023 Post Rd. , Whiting; 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
