Zinda, 75. formerly of Stevens Point, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 1997, in Zepherhills, Fla., where she resided for the past 14 years with her husband Ray. He survives at home. Services were held in Zepherhills and the body was cremated. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer society or Zepher Haven Nursing Home. Born May 18, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Singer. Survivors include two brothers, Johnny (Marge), Sayner, and Ray (Camille), Plover; three sons, Ron (Mary), Whiting, Jim (Ginny), Wisconsin Rapids, and Bob (Donna) Waukesha; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Raymond J. Zinda Raymond J. Zinda, 84, formerly of 1300 Briggs Court, Stevens Point, a former policeman, sheriff's deputy and Stevens Point businessman, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at St. Michael's Hospital. Private family services were held Tuesday at Guardian Angel Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to North Crest Assisted Living in honor of his memory. Jensen Funeral Home in Plover assisted the family with arrangements. Mr. Zinda was born Jan. 1, 1919, in Stevens Point, a son of the late John and Johanna (Kurszewski) Zinda. He was educated in St. Stephen School. He was married to Kathryn Singer in 1937. She died in 1997. He worked as a policeman in Stevens Point and later as a sheriff's deputy. He owned and operated Valley Bus Lines between Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids, serving customers of the Hiawatha passenger train. He owned and operated Little Joe's Bar in Park Ridge and later operated Congress Club Bar and Restaurant. He was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include three sons, Ronald (Mary), Whiting, James, (Ginny), Port Edwards, and Robert, (Donna), Hartland; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
