Notes for SUSAN M. KSIONSK: Stevens Point Journal Saturday, November 3, 1990 Obituary Susan M. Herek Susan M. Herek, 74, formerly of 1232 Portage St., died Friday afternoon at River Pines Living Center. She had been a resident there since June 1989. Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Gerald Fisher will officiate and burial will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Dzikoski-Pisarski Funeral Home. The veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary ritual will be at 7 p.m. Sunday. St. Peter Rosary Society will combine with the general rosary to pray at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Herek was born Feb. 17, 1916, in the town of New Hope, a daughter of the late Anton and Antoinette Kszonsk. She attended school in the town of New Hope and Sacred Heart Parochial School in Polonia. Her marriage to Alois Herek took place on July 23, 1935, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Polonia. The couple settled in the town of New Hope and farmed. In 1936 they moved to the town of Stockton and farmed until 1967. They then moved to their former address on Portage Street. He died June 1, 1987. She was employed at the Portage County Health Care Center for 13 years in the housekeeping department, retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. Peter Rosary Society, Rose 37; General McGlachlin Post 563 VFW Auxiliary; Sunshine Choraliers at Lincoln Center; and St. Peter Church Choir. Survivors include a daughter, Janet (Leroy) Schultz, Amherst; two sons Frank (Marilyn), Green Bay, and Norbert (Rose), Green Bay; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, nine brothers and sisters, a daughter and a granddaughter.

Notes for ALOIS HEREK: Stevens Point Journal Tuesday, June 2, 1987 Obituary Alois Herek Alois Herek, 78, 1232 Portage St., died Monday evening at the River Pines Living Center. He had been a resident of the living center for less than one day and was in ill health for six months. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Church. The Rev. Leo Schneider will officiate. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Dzikoski/Pisarski Funeral Home. A general rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Herek was born March 15. 1909, in the town of Stockton, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Herek. He attended schools in Stockton. He was married to Susan Kszonsk on July 23, 1935, at Sacred Heart Church in Polonia. They settled in the town of New Hope and farmed for one year. They then farmed in Stockton until 1967, when they moved to the present address. His wife survives. He was employed at Lullabye Furniture for six years, retiring in 1975 Survivors, besides his wife, include one daughter, Mrs. Leroy (Janet) Schultz, Amherst; two sons, Frank, Green Bay, and Norbert, Ashwaubenon; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; one brother, Edward, Stockton; and one sister, Mrs Esther Brumirski, Waukesha. He was preceded in death by one daughter and one brother.

Occupation: Farmer / Laborer Marriage Notes for SUSAN KSIONSK and ALOIS HEREK: Stevens Point Daily Journal July 26, 1935 Herek - Ksionsk Miss Susan Ksionsk, daughter of Anton Ksionsk of Amherst Junction and Alois Herek, son of Thomas Herek of Custer vicinity, repeated their marriage vows before Rev. Leo Jankowski at Sacred Heart church at Polonia Tuesday morning, July 23, at 8:30 o'clock. Roses decked the altar. Over the bride's white satin gown, made with a lace and sleeves, was a tulle veil four yards long, completed with a short face veil in front. The bridal bouquet was of white roses. Misses Alinore Herek and Loretta Kedroski, the bridesmaids, were gowned in yellow and white organdie, respectively, with hats to match. They carried roses of the same color as their dresses. Ambrose Herek and Michael Ksionsk attended the groom. Fifty families were guests at a reception held during the day at the bride's home. Breakfast, luncheon and dinner were served, and Czarnecki's orchestra furnished music for dancing. Guests from a distance were the bride's niece and nephew, Loretta and Harold Kedrowski of Lorain, Ohio. The bride and groom will go to Ohio later in the summer to spend two months. They will make their home near Stevens Point. Mr. Herek is engaged in farming.
