Obituary

Frank Ksionsk

Frank Ksionsk, 77, 1025 Williams St., was pronounced dead at 6:30 this morning at St. Michael's Hospital, where he was taken after being stricken at home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday Morning at 10 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Thomas Mullen officiating, and burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel, where the rosary will be said at 8 that night.

At 7 p.m. Monday, the rosary will be said by St. Hedwig's Court, National Catholic Society of Foresters. A daughter, Mrs. Jean Firkus, is a member.

Mr. Ksionsk was born Aug. 13, 1896, in the Town of New Hope, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Ksionsk.

He attended school in Polonia and then farmed with his parents until his marriage Nov. 13, 1917, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Polonia, to Susan Dachyk.

They farmed in the Polonia area until 1942, and then came to Stevens Point.

Mr. Ksionsk was a maintenance man for the Stevens Point public schools and also operated the North Side Grocery here from 1942-45, a grocery in Polonia from 1946-49, and Frank's Grocery on Church Street from 1949-54.

From 1954-64 he was employed by Lullabye Furniture, and from then until 1970 by his son-in-law, Greg Olszewski, a builder contractor.

Mr Ksionsk is survived by his wife; five sons, Edmund, 2206 Strange St., Whiting, Ernest, 1025 Williams St., Anthony, Port Edwards, John, Adams-Friendship, and Frank Jr., Milwaukee; three daughters, Mrs. Jean Firkus, 3230 Minnesota Ave., Mrs. Richard (Mary-Ann) Karch, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Greg (Antionette) Olszewski, Route 5, Stevens Point; 33 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack and Mike, Lorain, Ohio; and three sisters, Mrs. Martha Wroblewski, Milwaukee, Mrs. Joseph (Celia) Losievicz, Lorain, Ohio, and Mrs Alois Herek, 1232 Portage St.

A son, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Obituary

Mrs. Frank Ksionsk

Mrs. Frank Ksionsk, 77, 1025 Williams St., died this morning at St. Michael's Hospital, where she had been a patient for almost a month.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. The rev. Thomas Mullen will officiate. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. A general rosary will be said at 7 p.m. St. Peter's Rosary Society, of which she was a member, and the National Catholic Society of Foresters, St. Hedwig's Court No. 745, of which her daughter, Mrs. Jean Firkus, is a member, will pray together at 8 p.m.

The former Susan Dachyk was born Dec. 22, 1897, in the Town of Sharon, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dachyk. She attended school in Polonia.

She married Frank Ksionsk on Nov. 13, 1917, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Polonia. The couple farmed until moving to Stevens Point in 1920.

Mr. and Mrs. Ksionsk operated grocery stores in Polonia and on Stevens Point's north side from 1942 until 1954. They moved to Williams Street in 1960. Mr. Ksionsk died in 1974.

Survivors include five sons, Edmund, 2206 Strange St., Whiting, Ernest, 1025 Williams St., Anthony, Port Edwards, John, Adams-Friendship, and Frank, Milwaukee; three daughters, Mrs. Jean Firkus, 3230 Minnesota Ave., Mrs. Richard (Mary Ann) Karch, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Greg (Antoinette) Olszewski, Route 5, Stevens Point; Two brothers, August Dachyk, 1016 Arlington Place, and Joe, 2616, 4th Ave.; eight sisters, Mrs. Lillian Kostuch, 457 Washington Ave., Mrs. Bridgette Kulick, Menasha, Mrs. Ed (Belvina) Kruzitski, Wisconsin Rapids, and Mrs. Charles (Bena) Allan, Mrs. Bertha Grappa, Mrs. Rudy (Betty) Kiewig, Mrs. George (Sylvia) Unger and Mrs. Norbert (Lucille) Smith, all of Milwaukee; 33 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

One son and one sister preceded her in death.
