She married JAMES J. SLAWNY Private. He was born Private. Notes for MARILYN J. JESKO: Daily Citizen Fox Lake Thursday, January 19, 2006 Obituary Marilyn Slawny FOX LAKE - Marilyn J. Slawny, 63, a strong willed fighter, ended her seven-year battle with cancer on Monday, Jan. 16, 2006. She passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side. Marilyn was born on March 23, 1942, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Ernest Sr. and Regina "Jean" (Wroblewski) Jesko. She was part of the first graduating class of Oak Creek High School in 1960. On Jan 14, 1961, she married James J. Slawny at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Milwaukee. They were able to celebrate 45 years of marriage before she went to the Lord. She and Jim moved to Fox Lake in 1973 and Owned and operated Twin Shores Resort until 1984. Marilyn will be remembered for the way she touched the lives of the people around her. Nothing ever brought her down; she was an active member of the Fox Lake Property Owners; a member of the Fox Lake American Legion Auxiliary Post 521; and a member of Annunciation Catholic Church of Fox Lake. Playing cards was one of her favorite hobbies. Sheepshead being her favorite game, she played every Tuesday night at the Conservation Club in Beaver Dam and every Thursday night with a group of close friends. Family was a very important part of her life and those left behind will miss her greatly. Husband, Jim; daughter, Eve-Lynn (Bruce) Harned, Fox Lake; son, Gary (Anne) Slawny, Beaver Dam; mother, Regina "Jean" Jesko, Fox Lake; grandchildren, Haley, Cayla and Ashton Harned, all of Fox Lake; great grandson, Mikail James, Fox Lake; brother David Jesko, Fox lake; sister-in-law, Diana Jesko, Randolph; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Jesko Sr., and one brother, Ernest Jesko Jr. She was blessed by the lord living long enough to see five generations twice. First in November 1985 when first granddaughter, Haley was born, there was Haley, her mother, Eve-Lynn Harned, grandmother, Marilyn, great-grandmother, Regina "Jean" Jesko and great-great-grandmother, Martha Wroblewski. Then again in November 2005, when her great-grandson, Mikail, was born; there was Mikail, his mother, Haley Harned, grandmother, Eve-Lynn Harned, great-grandmother, Marilyn, and great-great-grandmother. The family would like to thank the following for all their help and support during the last seven years; Dr. Bradley and Dr. Juckett and all the staff at University Hospital, Madison; Dr. Kuehni and Linda Nagei and the rest of the staff at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital; the Fox Lake Fire Department and EMS for all the help getting her to the hospital when needed; all her friends who were always there for her, praying for her and helping her through the hard times and sharing all the good times. The funeral liturgy will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, at Annunciation Parish, 305 W. Green St., Fox Lake. The Rev. Mike Wild will preside over the liturgy. Friends may call at the church on Friday, Jan. 20, from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Randolph Community Funeral Home is serving the family.
