Obituary

Edmund Ksionsk

Edmund Ksionsk, 81, 2450 Don's Drive, Plover, died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at St. Michael's Hospital after being stricken at home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen Catholic Church with the Rev. Dan Kozlowski officiating. Entombment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel and again from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel. American Legion Post 6, of which he was a member, will hold a ritual at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The general rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr Ksionsk was born Sept. 15, 1918, in the town of Sharon, a son of the late frank and Susan (Dachyk) Ksionsk. He attended local schools.

He was married to Gertrude Kruzitski on Aug. 10, 1940, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.

He entered the U/S Navy on May 18, 1944, in Milwaukee. He served as a coxswain and received the Asia-Pacific Theater Medal along with the Victory Medal for World War II. He was honorably discharged from the Navy on Jan. 20, 1946, at Great lakes, Ill.

He and his wife then returned to the Stevens Point area. He worked as a carpenter and local tavern keeper until beginning as a sales supervisor for Morning Glory Dairy. He retired in 1980.

Survivors include his wife; six sons, David (Lucy), Thomas (Patti), and Dale, all of Stevens Point, Gary (Barbara), Whiting, Ronald (Karen), Willamina, Ore., and Kevin, Seymour; three sisters, Jean Firkus and Antoinette (Greg) Olszewski, both of Stevens Point, and Mary Ann (Richard) Karch, Milwaukee; three brothers, Ernest, King, Anthony (Evelyn), Port Edwards, and Frank (Val), Milwaukee; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son and two brothers.
